Treating Your Sexual Dysfunction Problems
There are many myths and half-truths circulating today about just what sexual dysfunction is and how to properly cure it. While this condition is different and just as common in men as it is in women, this article will concentrate on men only.
Simply put, sexual dysfunction is anything that may happen during any of the states of sexual activity (desire, arousal, orgasm, and resolution) that would prevent someone from enjoying sexual activity and sexual expression completely. For men this may mean outright impotence where they cannot obtain an erection, losing their erection before intercourse can take place, or premature ejaculation during the sexual act.
Many people have ideas about what cures sexual dysfunction ; some assume that simply taking a pill will fix all their problems in this area. In reality you need to address the cause of your dysfunction in your own case in order to fix is properly.
While sex may be a physical act there are actually many emotional causes that can trigger these problems. For example, lingering problems between mates or partners, a lack of communication about one's sexual needs, frustration about one's needs not being met, and lingering problems from childhood abuse or extreme attitudes toward sex itself can also cause problems with sexual dysfunction .
For men there are many physical problems that can interfere with the sex act. An erection is caused by many physical processes and when any one of those processes is interrupted or interfered with, sexual dysfunction can occur. For instance, blood must flow properly to the penis in order for it to become erect and for an erection to be maintained. Physical problems with circulation caused by diabetes, heart problems, high blood pressure, or certain medications can interrupt this circulation and make an erection impossible.
A man can also have suffered from certain injuries or diseases of the penis that can interfere with these physical processes as well. There are certain spongy areas of the penis that become enlarged when blood circulates to this area and this is what causes the penis to become hard; if these spongy areas are damaged in any way then sexual dysfunction will occur.
Knowing the cause of any physical problem is the first and most important step toward fixing it. If there are serious relationship issues or emotional problems that are interfering with a healthy attitude toward sex, these need to be addressed by a counselor. For physical causes of sexual dysfunction it's important to see urologist or medical doctor in order to have the causes diagnosed properly. This dysfunction can be treated if it's diagnosed properly.
